Day 29/Sanchez/Solitude/Meal

Is there a time in your life you could have used a Nola studiola? (alone, in New Orleans, semi off-the-grid, unemployed) What’s one thing you’d be sure to do if you were ensconced in my Nola studiola?

While I find the idea of a Nola studiola romantic, I don’t think I would have the patience or fortitude for it. I think I’m too social and enjoy bouncing around between activities too much. The strict focus on writing would be difficult for me. That said, if I were you, I’d be sure to enjoy the silence and solitude. Meditate. I’ve never been very good at that, for the above reasons. 🙂

What would be your ideal meal to eat on a wide, deteriorating balcony overlooking misshapen live oak branches, in the middle of a hot New Orleans summertime? What time of day would you suggest partaking of this meal? (It’s low 70′s in the morning and high 90′s by afternoon.)

It’s got to be something cold, crispy and fresh. I think a big salad with baby greens, spinach and radicchio, cucumbers, red bell peppers, red onions, grape tomatoes, feta cheese and vegetarian chicken. (Something like the Boca spicy chicken patties–I change it up depending on what’s in my freezer.) Topped off with Pace chunky salsa–I use it nearly every day as a salad dressing. Noon, for lunch, before it gets too hot!
